TYPE-C connector

One of the most striking things about the Type-C connector is that it is very small in size only 8.3x2.5mm and is vertically symmetrical. Similar to the Apple Lightning connector, the Type-C connector has contacts on 2 sides, so 2 ways work the same. No more up and down movements and no more bothering about plugs trying to figure out the right way to plug them in.

The TYPE-C connector supports the new SuperSpeedUSB3.1 format, which provides data transfer rates up to 10Gbps, about 2 times the speed of the current USB3.0 version. It is still compatible with all USB2.0 formats (LS, FS and HS ) is backward compatible, so even if an older system is designed as a dongle, it can take advantage of the new connector.
